SS 904L is a super austenitic stainless steel with very low carbon, high nickel (25%), high molybdenum (4.5%), and copper addition. Exceptional resistance to sulfuric acid at all concentrations, hydrochloric acid, and reducing acids. Positioned between standard austenitic stainless and the more expensive nickel alloys — near-nickel-alloy performance at lower cost.
